Volleyball recap (Sept. 16): OHS, THS

Trinity finished their All “A” State Tournament run after winning in the quarterfinals, but just falling short of a championship appearance after they lost in the semifinals. Meanwhile Owensboro picked up two wins. 

THS

The Lady Raiders beat Somerset 2-0 (25-12, 25-18) in the quarterfinals, but were knocked out by St. Henry in a 0-2 (10-25, 10-25) match. 

Across both games, Hannah Nash led the scoring with 25 kills, one ace, 10 digs and a block. Kenzie McDowell ran the offense with 45 assists throughout the day as well as eight kills, six aces, eight digs and 1.5 blocks. Caroline Hall led on defense with 24 digs, one kill, two aces and three assists. 

OHS

OHS picked up two wins against Breckinridge 3-0 (26-24, 25-23, 25-18) and Grayson 3-0 (25-13, 25-21, 25-21). 

Across both games, Addie Travis led in scoring and on defense with an impressive 32 kills and 25 blocks as well as two assists and seven digs. Ava Fincher led in assists with a whopping 52 assists along with 14 kills, two aces and five digs.
