Catholic, Owensboro and Trinity were victorious while Daviess County and Apollo suffered defeats. Trinity’s own Hannah Nash made a career landmark as she recorded her 1,500th kill as Lady Raider in their match against Edmonson.
AHS 1, OCHS 3
The Lady Aces won 3-1 (23-25, 25-16, 25-22, 25-19) in their city-county game against the E-gals.
Leading scoring for OCHS was Balire Riney with seven kills, eight aces, two blocks and 14 digs. Leading on defense was Karsen Tipmore with 20 digs, one kill and five aces. Kennedy Murphy set up the offense with 35 assists as well as having three kills, three blocks and seven digs.
Jennifer Lee led the E-gals in scoring with 12 kills and five blocks on defense. Kelsey and Kaley Dickinson led the team’s offense with 12 and 10 digs respectively. Ahalia Ramirez set up 27 assists for the team and had three digs, one kill and an ace as well.
DCHS 1, Ohio Co. 3
The Lady Panthers suffered a 1-3 (20-25, 25-22, 21-25, 21-25) defeat against Ohio County.
Leading the scoring for DCHS were Maya Pollard, with nine kills, three dig and a block, and Gracie Meserve, with 6 kills, three aces and 2 digs. The defense was led by Kristen Harris who had 16 digs, one kill and one ace.
OHS 3, Muhlenberg 1
The Lady Panthers won 3-1 (25-11, 22-25, 25-16, 25-15) against Muhlenberg.
Leading the scoring for OHS were Addie Travis, with 12 kills, five aces and two blocks, and Chase Mather, with 14 kills, two aces and an assist. Anna Travis and Ava Fincher both had 14 assists each.
THS 3, Edmonson 0
Trinity beat Edmonson 3-0 (25-14, 25-10, 25-14).
Leading the scoring was Nash with 11 kills to add to her impressive total. Kenzie McDowell orchestrated the offense with 19 assists as well as having two kills, two aces, one block and three digs.
