Owensboro Catholic secured a 3-2 win in a close game against Breckenridge that was forced to a fifth set. Trinity overcame Owensboro in a city-county matchup. Apollo lost in their match on the road against Meade County.
AHS 1, Meade 3
The E-gals won the first set, but went on to lose 1-3 (25-22, 14-25, 20-25, 22-25). Kaley and Kelsey Dickinson kept the team alive on defense with 19 and 20 digs respectively. Ahalia Ramirez fueled the attack with 28 assists, one kill and 12 digs on defense.
OCHS 3, Breckinridge 2
The Lady Aces forced Breckinridge to a fifth set and won 3-2 (25-18, 18-25, 20-25, 25-14, 15-5). The offense was run by Kennedy Murphy who had 31 assists, two aces, two kills and six digs. Karsen Tipmore had 24 digs leading the defense while also having three aces.
THS 3, OHS 1
The Lady Raiders beat the Lady Red devils 3-1 (23-25, 25-19, 25-20, 25-19). Georgia Howard and Hannah Nash led the scoring for THS with 13 and 12 kills respectively. Kenzie McDowell set up the offense with 35 assists, seven kills and six digs.
Leading the scoring for OHS was Chase Mather with 9 kills, one ace and 12 digs. Ava Fincher led the teams’ assists with 24 as well as seven kills and seven digs.
