Daviess County, Owensboro, and Trinity added a win to their tallies as the regular season nears its end.
DCHS 13, Hancock Co. 0
Daviess County took to the road where they had a blowout 13-0 win over Hancock County.
The first inning saw Daviess County take an early lead with 2 runs. They added two more runs to their lead in the second and ran away with the lead with 4 runs in the third inning. After holding Hancock scoreless for the game, the Panthers put the nail in the coffin with a 5-run performance in the fourth inning to take the win at 13-0.
On the mound for the Panthers was Logan Mewes who recorded 5 strikeouts and allowed just 3 hits across 5 innings. At the plate, Cameron Rickard led with 2 doubles, 3 RBIs and 2 runs scored. Lucas Ward had a 2 RBI and 2 runs scored, and Mewes hit a double and had 2 RBIs. Brayden Wells hit a double, had an RBI and scored 2 runs, and Gage Hagan had 1 RBI and 1 run scored as well. Brody Brubaker had 1 RBI, and Gavin Howard hit a double and scored 1 run. Brett Poole scored 2 runs, and Toby Morris and Parker Wilson both scored 1 run each.
OHS 8, Meade Co. 4
Owensboro hosted Meade County where they secured an 8-4 win.
Owensboro started the game hot as they quickly scored 5 runs in the first inning. The second inning went scoreless, but Meade got on the board with 3 runs in the top of the third to cut the gap to 5-3. OHS extended their lead in the bottom of the inning with 2 runs. Meade got a run back in the fifth inning, but Owensboro scored one final run in the sixth to take the win at 8-4.
On the mound for the Red Devils was Trevor DeLacey who had 3 strikeouts and allowed 5 hits across 4 innings, Kaleb Ashey who had 1 strikeout and allowed 3 hits in 2 innings and Will Rickard who had 1 strikeout in 1 inning. At the plate, Brady Benjamin hit a double, had 3 RBIs and scored 2 runs. Ty Ashley had 2 RBIs and scored 1 run, DeLacey hit a double, had 1 RBI and scored 1 run and Evan Hampton had 1 RBI and scored 2 runs. Lake Wilson and Cayden Ray both scored 1 run each.
THS 7, Hopkins Co. Central 6
Trinity traveled to take on Hopkins County Central in a game where they came out with a close 7-6 win.
Hopkins opened the scoring with a run in the first inning. THS took the lead in the second with 2 runs before the third inning went scoreless. The fourth inning saw the Raiders take the lead to 5-1 with 3 more runs. They added 1 run to their tally in the fifth, and they scored 1 in the top of the sixth that went on to be the game-winning run. Hopkins cut the gap very quickly with a 5-run performance in the bottom of the sixth. THS shut down Hopkins in the final inning to save the 7-6 win.
On the mound for the Raiders was Hayden Aull, who recorded 3 strikeouts and allowed 4 hits across 5.1 innings, and Carson Fitzgerald who had 1 strikeout across 1.2 innings. Connor Hatfield led at the plate with a home run, 3 RBIs and 2 runs scored. Nate Blue had 1 RBI and 1 run scored, and Harrison Barnett had 1 RBI as well. Kayin Howard scored 2 runs, and Fitzgerald and Aull both scored 1 run each.
