In a nine-hole match against Ohio County, Hancock County pulled out a narrow victory, 157 to 159.
Individually, OC’s Shawn Cotton and Bowen Coot placed first, each shooting an even-par 35. Also scoring were Andrew Figg with a 40 and Issac Lloyd with a 49, while Cole Hall carded a 52.
Hancock County was led by Dec Lewko’ 36, followed by Ethan Heavrin (39) and Jaxon Blake (40). Jacob Shultz and Kolby Keown each recorded a 42.
“I am proud of how we came out and played today,” Hancock County’s head coach Jeff Shultz said. “It was not our best, but we just kept our heads and played through some tough breaks. It’s not a long course, but you have to be in the right spots to score there.”
