In a close match, the Hancock County boys’ tennis team was unable to pull it off, falling to Daviess County 3-2, while the girls lost 5-0. For the Hornets, Tyce Boling won his singles match 9-7, while the doubles team of Preston Blanton and Caleb Ewing won 8-4.
“This was a much better effort tonight against a really good team in Daviess County,” Hancock County head coach Dan Hopkins said. “Although the girls didn’t win a game, they battled hard. The boys were in it till the end. It was a nice match from our number one doubles team, and Tyce made a comeback of biblical proportions, winning the last five games. It was good to have Alex back and we might have another late addition. One more week and then it is on to Regionals.”
