LP Early recorded a hat trick and added an assist, and Lily Nieman tallied three assists and scored twice to power the Lady Devils past Ohio County 8-0. Ella Hall added two assists, while Amelia Calhoun also had a hat trick and an assist. Starting in net, Hayley Sikes recorded a pair of saves. “We played great from the start tonight against Ohio County,” Owensboro Head Coach Sarah Poole said. “Every player on the field played well. We were able to win the game 8-0, ending the game at the 57th minute. Our passing was the best I have seen this season, and our defense only allowed two shots on goal, which Hayley saved.”
Webster County 2, McLean County 1
Off a corner kick, Hannah Smith scored the Lady Cougars’ lone goal of the game in their 2-1 loss to Webster County. For Webster County, both of their goals came on penalty kicks.
“The girls played well after the second goal,” McLean County Head Coach Ricky Humphrey said. “We had many opportunities, but their goalie made some great saves. We will now set our sights on the District Tournament this Saturday. The worst we can finish is above .500, and that is a major improvement for a team that won two games last year.”
