Competing in the All “A” State Tournament this past weekend, Owensboro Catholic beat Hazard 8-0 and Martin County 3-1 before losing to Bishop Brossart 4-1 in the finals. This marked the first time since 2022 that the Lady Aces advanced to the championship of the All “A” State Tournament.

In the finals against Bishop Brossart, Allie Martson fed Chloe Martson for the team’s lone goal, while Felicity Payne finished with eight saves in net. Allie Marston, Chole Marston, and Payne were all named to the All “A” State Tournament Team.

“The Lady Aces had not been to the championship at the All “A” in three years, so seeing them reach that game this year after not having a season last year was amazing,” Owensboro Catholic Head Coach Meg Patton said. “This was such a huge accomplishment. Our girls played well the entire weekend. Playing against Madisonville on Thursday, two games on Friday, and then on Sunday is a lot, and they pushed through and played some great soccer. Watching them build and grow stronger together game after game is so exciting for the remainder of the season.”
