Apollo and Hancock County both won, while McLean County and Owensboro both lost.

Apollo 74, Butler County 44

Carlos Cruz scored 13 of his team-high 21 points in the third quarter to help power Apollo past Butler County 74-44. Landon Henning was second on the team in scoring with 16 points, and Tate Powers hit three threes on his way to 11 points.

“It was a great effort tonight,” Apollo Head Coach Ryne Tinsley said. “We are averaging five guys in double figures right now. I thought our defense was better, but we have to guard the three line as we move forward.”

Hancock County 84, Cloverport 15

The Hornets jumped out to an early 28-10 lead and never looked back, beating Cloverport 84-15. Nolan Maxwell led the way with 13 points, four assists, two rebounds, and one steal, while Jack Roberts and Cooper Jones both added 10 points. Taylor Payne grabbed a team-high eight boards, and Seth Hunt dished out five assists.

“I thought we played very well,” Hancock County Head Coach Josh Roberts said. “We were balanced, made the extra passes to open guys, and our defense was solid. We are 6-0 on the season for the first time in a long while.”

Ohio County 50, McLean County 41

Layden Bozarth led the way with 11 points, and Brooks Lynam added nine points in the Cougars’ 50-41 loss to Ohio County.

“We are too stagnant on offense right now,” McLean County Head Coach Darren Lynam said. “Hopefully, we will learn from our mistakes.”

Muhlenberg County 76, Owensboro 61

DaMarcus Ganaway Jr. hit three threes and had a team-high 16 points in the Red Devils’ 76-61 loss to Muhlenberg County. Kade Arnold scored 13 of his 15 points in the fourth quarter, and Valor Smith was third on the team in scoring with 13 points.
