Girls’ basketball roundup: December 18

Daviess County and Trinity (Whitesville) both won, while Hancock County fell to Breckenridge County.

Daviess County 53, Logan County 39

Kennedy Lane scored 20 of her game-high 29 points in the second half as the Lady Panthers beat Logan County 53-39. Riley Hayden hit three threes to go along with her 18 points, and Maddie Barron hit a three.

Breckinridge County 66, Hancock County 24

Carolina Jones scored eight points in the Lady Hornets’ 66-24 loss to Breckenridge County. Jaylee Johnson scored six points, and Madyson Higdon added five points.

Trinity (Whitesville) 65, Warren Central 40

Ry’Lynne Meserve hit five threes to go along with her game-high 32 points as the Lady Raiders beat Warren Central 65-40. Saddie Morris was second on the team in scoring with seven points, and Preslee Meserve, Navaeh Mills, and Sophie Hatfield all had six points.

“They got after it defensively and created a lot of offense,” Trinity (Whitesville) Head Coach Emily Hernandez said. “We boxed out better, and so that was an improvement. They worked hard and moved the ball much better tonight. Ry’Lynne had a great game, leading us in scoring with 32 points.”
