Owensboro Catholic won a nail-biter on the road, while Hancock County and Trinity (Whitesville) both fell short.
Grayson County 56, Hancock County 45
Carolina Jones scored a team-high 19 points, and Ansley House finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds in the Lady Hornets’ 56-45 loss to Grayson County. Jordyn Waltrip finished with eight points and nine rebounds.
“It wasn’t the outcome we wanted,” Hancock County Head Coach Lisa Banta said. “Our turnovers and shooting percentage definitely hurt us, but the girls competed and left it all out on the floor. I’m proud of their effort.”
Owensboro Catholic 67, Tipton MO 65
Claudia Munsey hit three threes in the fourth quarter to help the Lady Aces beat Tipton 67-65. The sharpshooter finished with a team-high 24 points, while Taylor Mannahan added 18 points. Lyla Martin hit three threes to go along with her 11 points, and Katie Hagan scored six of her eight points in the second half.
Warren East 57, Trinity (Whitesville) 47)
Preslee Meserve scored eight of her 13 points in the fourth quarter in the Lady Raiders’ 57-47 loss to Warren East. Ella Morris led the team in scoring with 15 points, while Ry’Lynne Meserve hit two threes to go along with her 10 points.
“We didn’t play the way were were capable of until the last quarter,” Trinity (Whitesville) Head Coach Emily Hernandez said. “We played well the last quarter, but to be successful, we must play for 32 minutes.”
