Girls’ basketball Roundup: December 8

It was a positive night for the local teams as Daviess County and McLean County both won.

Daviess County 61, Muhlenberg County 39

Kennedy Lane hit four threes to go along with her team-high 20 points to help power the Lady Panthers past Muhlenberg County 61-39. Riley Hayden shot 4-10 from deep and added 16 points, while Briley Henry finished with seven points, six rebounds, four steals, and one block.

“We got off to a slow start, but we put some solid stretches together,” Daviess County Head Coach Natalie Payne said. “We were very fortunate to come out with the win.”

McLean County 71, Todd County Central 33

Anna Miller was lights out from deep, hitting seven threes to go along with her team-high 25 points in the Lady Cougars’ 71-33 win over Tod County Central. Ella Larkin scored 14 of her 20 points in the first half, and Karlee Floyd added 18 points.

“Our team came out a little slow to start the game, but really got into a flow in the second quarter, scoring 26 points,” McLean County Head Coach Eli Ellis said. “From that point, we did a great job of executing the offense while getting out in transition.”
