Owensboro High School will host a community celebration on Wednesday evening to honor the Red Devils’ 2025 KHSAA Class 5A football state championship — the program’s first title in 39 years.

The event is set for 6 p.m. in the OHS North Gym and is open to the public.

The evening will include remarks from the coaching staff, player spotlights, and special team recognitions. School officials said the event is intended to recognize the dedication and perseverance that led to the championship run and to thank the broader Red Devil community for its support.

“This unforgettable evening will be filled with love, pride, and gratitude for the student-athletes, coaches, families, and supporters who poured their hearts into this historic season,” officials said in the release. “Let’s fill the North Gym, lift up our champions, and relive the season that reminded us all of the tradition of excellence at Owensboro High School.”

Attendees are encouraged to wear red and black as the school welcomes the team home to campus for the formal celebration.
