Fresh off of winning the 3rd Region All A Tournament, Owensboro Catholic picked up where they left off, cruising past Meade County 79-38. Dylan Hagan stole the show, scoring 12 of his game-high 23 points in the third quarter. He also added nine rebounds and three assists.
“I am extremely proud of our effort tonight,” Owensboro Catholic Head Coach Tabor Shadowen said. “We had some difficult conversations last week about our pride on the defensive end, and our group has responded accordingly.
Jake Murphy hit a pair of threes to go along with his 15 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists, and John Paul Carrico and Myles Grant both added 10 points. Dre’Mail Carothers recorded a double-double of 13 points and 11 assists, and he also grabbed eight rebounds.
“Relentless has been our word here lately, and that’s what we’ve been the last few nights,” Shadowen said. “When we guard at a level that produces consistent stops, our offense becomes our reward. It’s no coincidence that our best defensive efforts have led to our top offensive outputs. Our next step in the process is a commitment to bringing this relentlessness night in and night out.”
