In the last match of the regular season, Daviess County’s boys bowling team cruised past Henderson County 8-1, while the coed team lost. For the boys, Milan Ferguson (213), Alec Jones (215), Jaxson Unsel (213, 217), Evan Onstott (190), and Angel Martinez Ortiz (179, 196) all had standout performances. The boys finished the regular season 18-1.
“I thought we had a great regular season in match play and then were able to also have strong showings in some of our early tournaments,” Daviess County Boys Coach Jimmy Carroll said. “Winning the Owensboro Bowling Association’s Inaugural Bowling Tournament, finishing 2nd at the Mustang Invitational hosted by McCracken Co, and also a 4th place finish at a tournament hosted by Graves County. We will take these last few practices to prepare the team for the upcoming regional tournament in Bowling Green.”
For the Coed team, Preston Peachee (134, 96), Blake Vanover (123, 180), Eoghan Nichols (125), Nolan Ward (182), Braedan Nichols (153, 151), Levi Davenport (160), Gabriel Evans (150), Hilton Abdon (161, 124), and Fayth Brown (153, 139) all bowled over their average.
“The girls and JV boys finished the season at 5-10,” Daviess County Girls Head Coach Casey Carroll said. “The girls are working hard in practice to set the tone for regionals singles next week. This is their first year, so regionals will really be about the experience they will gain going into next season.”
