It was a positive night for the local teams as Hancock County and Owensboro Catholic both won.
Hancock County 56, Union County 43
Carolina Jones led the way with 15 points and six assists as Hancock County beat Union County 56-43. Madyson Higdon recorded a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds, and Izzy Ross added 11 points.
Owensboro Catholic 74, Graves County 50
Katie Hagan scored 10 of her team-high 18 points in the third quarter, and Taylor Mannahan added 15 points as the Lady Aces beat Graves County 74-50. Sophia Newby finished with 14 points, and Claudia Munsey hit a pair of threes to go along with her 10 points.
“I thought Sophia and Katie were very active on the glass today, keeping balls alive and getting putbacks,” Owensboro Catholic Head Coach Michael Robertson said. “I just want them to keep trying to get better with each game out.”
