Traveling to Orlando, Florida, it has been an excellent weekend for Daviess County cheer, as they advanced two teams to the UCA National High School Cheerleading Championship DI finals, set for later today.
On Friday in the Super Varsity Non Tumbling Game Day DI, the Lady Panthers finished the preliminary round with the top score of 92.2, automatically qualifying them for the finals.
“I am thrilled to have advanced to the finals, especially since our performance has room for improvement,” Daviess County Head Coach Kitty Jones said. “It was great, but we performed with a lot of nerves. I am glad to have that one out of the way, and we are ready to step up our GameDay performance on Sunday.”
Yesterday in Medium Varsity Non Tumbling D1, the Lady Panthers finished the semi-final round in seventh place with a raw score of 82.5.
“They had the best performance they have had in this division all year,” Jones said. “We are very excited.”
GameDay will compete at 3:41 pm ET, while Traditional will perform at 6:43 pm ET.
