Daviess County beat Apollo in an important 9th District game. while McLean County won at home. In other action, Trinity (Whitesville) and Hancock County both lost.

Daviess County 60, Apollo 50

Trailing 25-24 at halftime, Jonathan Moss scored 12 of his 16 points in the third quarter to power the Panthers past Apollo 60-50. DeAaron Watkins was untouchable on the boards, grabbing 24 rebounds to go along with his 16 points. Lemontae Ratcliff added 11 points and three assists, and Michael Acton finished with 10 points and nine rebounds.

For the Eagles, Tate Powers scored 10 of his team-high 21 points in the second quarter, and Carlos Cruz added 10 points. Kayden Green was third on the team in scoring with five points.

Meade County 61, Hancock County 49

Taylor Payne filled the stat sheet with 12 points, nine rebounds, two blocks, one steal, and one assist as the Hornets fell to Meade County 61-49. Keegan Wilson added 10 points, eight rebounds, and four assists, and Seth Hunt and Jacob Shultz both had nine points.

McLean County 74, Dawson Springs 46

Layden Bozarth led the way with 19 points as the Cougars beat Dawson Springs 74-46 to improve to 14-8. Camden Baird hit five threes in the first half as he finished with 15 points.

Grayson County 76, Trinity (Whitesville) 50

Harrison Barnett scored 11 of his 17 points in the third quarter as the Raiders fell to Grayson County 76-50. Mason Smith hit three threes to go along with his 14 points, and Cale Boarman added seven points.

“They are tough. Their offense is so explosive that any mistakes we made fueled their offense,” Trinity (Whitesville) Head Coach Nathan West said. “You cannot turn the ball over against them, and you have to keep them off the glass. However, we did handle their press better than we did in the first game, and we played much better.”
