It was a busy afternoon for the coverage teams, as McLean County swept their double header and Daviess County beat Bethlehem. In other action, Hancock County and Owensboro Catholic both dropped their double-headers, while Owensboro lost a pitchers’ duel to Muhlenberg County.

Daviess County 8, Bethlehem 3

The Panthers scored four runs in the second inning and never looked back, beating Bethlehem 8-3. Cameron Rickard, Justin Johnson, and Logan Mason all drove in a pair of runs, while Caden Embry went 2-4. On the mound, Ben Watkins allowed two runs over 5 2/3 innings, striking out four, while Nolan Johnson pitched in relief.

Hancock County goes 0-2 in double-header

It was an off day for Hancock County, as they fell to McLean County 10-0 and Caldwell County 14-4. Against Caldwell County, Porter Hay and Jacob Shultz had the team’s lone RBIs.

McLean County sweeps double-header

Hosting Hancock County and Caldwell County, the Cougars swept both opponents, winning 10-0 and 6-4. Will Gatton was untouchable on the mound against the Hornets, allowing one hit over five shutout innings, striking out seven.

Against Caldwell County, Layden Bozarth went 2-4 with three RBIs, while Corin Martin and Zach Albin both drove in runs. Bozarth started on the mound, allowing four runs over 6 1/3 innings, striking out eight, while Nash Lee threw 2/3 shutout innings in relief.

Muhlenberg County 1, Owensboro 0

It was a pitchers’ duel between Owensboro and Muhlenberg County, as the Red Devils Griffin Gaddis allowed one run over five innings, striking out four. Yet, the Red Devils were unable to capitalize on their offensive opportunities, falling 1-0. Dathan Hinton threw one shutout inning in relief, while Gaddis and Dax Garrison had the team’s lone hits.

Owensboro Catholic drops double-header

Competing in a round robin against Bowling Green and University Heights, the Aces dropped both games, falling 7-4 and 4-1. Against Bowling Green, Tucker Evans went 2-3 with two RBIs, Jake Murphy went 3-4, and Mason Russelburg went 1-1 with an RBI and a walk. Against University Heights, Jake Murphy went 2-3 with an RBI, while Tucker Evans, Jude Evans, Mason Moser, and Alex Hood all had hits. Gentry Atwell started on the mound, throwing two shutout innings, while Myles Grant, Lane Hundley, Walker Crabtree, Chase Keller, and Russelburg all pitched in relief.
