Owensboro and Apollo beat McLean County and Hancock County in a pair of 3rd Region games, while Trinity (Whitesville) took down Union County. In other action, Daviess County fell to Henderson County.

Apollo 13, Hancock County 1

Leading 6-0 entering the third inning, Apollo added five more runs, capped off by Gunnar Hendricks two-run homer as they beat Hancock County 13-1. Hendricks finished 1-1 with three RBIs, Ty Lillpop went 1-2 with five RBIs, and Jagger Pate scored three runs. Gage Logsdon allowed one run over four innings, while Isaac James pitched a perfect fifth inning to close it out.

For the Hornets, Grant Smith drove in the team’s lone run, while Porter Hay went 1-2.

Henderson County 8, Daviess County 5

Tied 3-3 entering the bottom of the third, the game started to get away from the Panthers as they allowed four runs in the inning, falling to Henderson County 8-5. Caden Emby went 2-3 with two RBIs, Logan Mason went 1-3 with an RBI, and Cameron Rickard reached base three times.

John Rue started on the mound, allowing four earned runs over 2 1/3 innings, while Bradyn Morris, Ethan Vinson, and Rylan Clemons all pitched in relief.

Owensboro 11, McLean County 1

Leading 3-1 entering the sixth inning, the Red Devils added eight runs to close out McLean County 11-1. Ty Ashley went 3-4 with three RBIs, while Griffin Gaddis and Brayden Toler combined for three hits and four RBIs. Nash Miller started on the mound, allowing one unearned run, while Jaxon Fogle pitched 1 2/4 innings in relief.

For the Cougars, Brooks Lynam drove in Reid Gatton for the team’s lone run. Jaelin Groves allowed six runs over 5 1/3 innings, striking out seven, while Nash Lee and Gatton both pitched in relief.

Trinity (Whitesville) 17, Union County 14

Trailing 12-1 in the bottom of the third, the Raiders outscored Union County 16-2 down the stretch en route to a 17-14 comeback win. Harrison Barnett and Cale Boarman combined for three hits and six RBIs, Kayin Howard and Keaton Abbott both drove in a pair of runs, and Grant Howard went 3-4 with an RBI. Rylan Cecil started on the mound, allowing four earned runs over one inning, while Howard and Isaac Hernandez both pitched in relief.
