In an important 9th District game, Apollo took down Owensboro, while Hancock County and Trinity (Whitesville) both lost.
Apollo 8, Owensboro 4
Ty Lillop and Ryleigh Logan combined for four hits and five RBIs as the Eagles beat Owensboro 8-4. Gunnar Hendricks went 1-3 with an RBI, Jackson Carder went 2-4 with an RBI, and Ross Milburn went 1-5 with an RBI. Carder started on the mound, allowing two earned runs over five innings, striking out nine, while Issac James pitched two innings in relief.
For the Red Devils, Ty Ashley went 3-4 with an RBI, Jordan Quesnell went 3-4, and Dane Pulliam finished 2-4. Nash Miller started on the mound, while Jaxon Fogle, Dathan Hinton, and Brayden Toler all pitched in relief.
Butler County 11, Hancock County 6
Trailing 11-1, the Hornets scored five runs in the top of the fourth, but were unable to complete the comeback, falling to Butler County 11-6. Dylan Micker and Jacob Shultz combined for three hits and four RBIs, while Tripp Hager went 1-2 with two RBIs.
Grayson County 17. Trinity (Whitesville) 5
Harrison Barnett went 2-2 and scored a run as the Raiders fell to Grayson County 17-5. Wade Burch and Grant Howard both drove in runs, Cale Boarman went 1-2, and Isaac Hernandez finished 1-3.
