Apollo softball began their road trip to Alabama in style, sweeping Pell City and MGM 4-3 and 8-7. Against Pell City, the E-Gals entered the seventh inning with a four-run lead, but quickly saw it trimmed to 4-3. With the tying run on third, Mollie Julian bounced back and recorded her 10th strikeout of the game to escape the jam.
Julian threw a complete game, allowing two earned runs over seven innings, while also driving in a run. Hannah Holder went 2-3 and scored a run, Keelan Wettstain finished 2-3 with an RBI, and Liza Page went 2-4.
In their win over MGM, the E-Gals trailed 7-5, but scored three runs in the top of the fifth. Page hit a sacrifice fly before Ramirez crushed a two-run single. Ramirez finished 2-4 with two RBIs, Julian went 3-4 with an RBI, and Holder drove in a pair of runs. Holder started in the circle, allowing five earned runs over 1 1/3 innings, while Ramirez and Julian both pitched in relief.
