Daviess County beat Owensboro Catholic in an important 9th District game, while Hancock County and Trinity (Whitesville) both won. In other action, McLean County and Owensboro both lost.

Daviess County 18, Owensboro Catholic 2

Trailing 2-0, the Lady Panthers scored five runs in the bottom of the first en route to an 18-2 win over the Lady Aces. Callie Smith homered twice, while Annie Newman, Briley Henry, Kylie Clark, Molly Hancock, and Kori Posey all went deep. Sophia Cain threw a complete game in the circle, allowing two earned runs over four innings, striking out four.

For the Lady Aces, Lily Logsdon hit a two-run homer, Anna Hamilton went 1-4, and Ava Mudd went 1-1.

Hancock County 11, Owensboro Knights Christian 1

The Lady Hornets exploded for nine runs in the bottom of the second and never looked back, beating Owensboro Christian Knights 11-1. Rebekah Wills and Maci Winkler both drove in a pair of runs, Jozlyn Carnes went 2-3 with two RBIs, and Maryann Coleman went 2-4 with an RBI. Ryleigh French threw a complete game in the circle, giving up one unearned run over five innings, striking out four.

Muhlenberg County 15, McLean County 0

The Lady Cougars fell behind 1-0 early and never fully recovered, losing to Muhlenberg County 15-0. Emily Howard had the team’s lone hit, while Macie Geel started in the circle. Kyra Nichols and Ava McCarty both pitched in relief.

Breckinridge County 8, Owensboro 7

Leading Breckinridge County 7-6 entering the bottom of the seventh, the Lady Devils were unable to close it out, calling 8-7. Ayrish Barksdale and Audrey Potter both drove in a pair of runs, Grace Parker went 2-4 with an RBI, and Hayler Sikes went 2-3. Paislee Hodge threw a complete game in the circle, allowing three earned runs over 6 1/3 innings, striking out seven.

Trinity (Whitesville) 4, Butler County 1

Ella Morris was nearly untouchable in the circle, allowing one earned run over seven innings, striking out 14. At the plate, Morris went 2-3 with two RBIs, while Kendall Howard and Michaela Knight both drove in runs.
