Playing a doubleheader against Bullitt Central on Saturday, the Lady Cougars emerged victorious, winning both games 16-6 and 22-11. In their 16-6 win, the Lady Cougars jumped out to a 3-0 first-inning lead behind an Adalynn Estes two-run triple and a Kylie Rickard RBI single. After adding a run in the second and fourth, the Lady Cougars outscored Bullitt Central 11-6 down the stretch.
Estes finished 2-5 with two RBIs, Rickard went 4-5 with three RBIs, and Maci Geel drove in a pair of runs. Kyra started in the circle, throwing two shutout innings, while Ava McCarty and Geel both pitched in relief.
In their 22-11 win, the Lady Cougars batted through the order to start the game, scoring 10 runs in the first. They added a run in the second, four in the fourth, and seven in the sixth. Emily Howard finished 4-5 with five RBIs, Nichols went 3-4 with five RBIs, and Raylee Neal, Geel, and Rickard each drove in a pair of RBIs.
McLean County returns to action later tonight when they host Ohio County.
