Holding onto a 2-1 fourth-inning lead, four defensive errors were too much to overcome as the Lady Devils fell to Grayson County 6-3. After allowing a run in the top of the first, Hayley Sikes hit a two-run homer to put Owensboro up 2-1.
The Lady Cougars retook the lead in the top of the fourth thanks to a two-run single and then added three more runs in the sixth. Sikes hit her second homer of the night in the seventh to cut the lead to 6-3.
Sikes finished 3-4 with three RBIs, Ella Hall went 2-3, and Reese Richards and Bailey Delacey both had hits. Paislee Hodge threw a complete game in the circle, allowing four earned runs over seven innings, striking out four.
The Lady Devils return to action on Monday when they face off against South Oldham at Fort Walton Beach.
