A man died Thursday after an incident along the bank of the Ohio River near the English Park boat ramp, according to the Owensboro Police Department.
According to a release, OPD, Owensboro Fire Department and American Medical Response were dispatched at approximately at 1:42 p.m. to a water emergency at 2 Hanning Lane (English Park boat ramp) in reference to an elderly male who collapsed while trying to pull a boat from the Ohio River
after it broke loose from a nearby dock.
OPD reported that a 73-year-old male was located on the river bank and transported to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
