Thoroughbreds have impressive weekend, improve winning streak to four

The Owensboro Thoroughbreds played a strong weekend of basketball, defeating the Medora Timberjacks and the Kentucky Enforcers to improve to 7-2.

The Thoroughbreds took on the Timberjacks on Saturday, earning a 117-114 win. Darhius Nunn led the way for Owensboro with 28 points, while Marty Hill followed with 21. Montel James (12), Davon Hays (11), Jaiveon Eaves (10) and Samuel Kearns (10) all finished in double figures as well.

Owensboro had another strong offensive outing on Sunday, as they defeated the Enforcers 131-119. Kearns led the way with 26, while Hays and Eaves followed close behind with 23 and 21 respectively.

Nunn (18), Hill (15), Alex Arellano (12) and PJ Savoy (11) also finished in double figures on the day for the Thoroughbreds.

Riding a four-game winning streak, Owensboro will make its way back home for its next game, hosting the Indiana All-Americans at 7 p.m. on April 8.
