After dominating in Soapbox competitions throughout the year, Brayden Locher added another accolade to the list by placing first in the 2022 FirstEnergy All-American Soapbox Derby Rally Stock World Championship.

Locher—who just turned 12 on July 17—is no stranger to success. After finishing fourth in the country last season, he has racked up a nation-leading 30 wins this year, is second in national points and is the Region 12 (Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina) top points earner.

The 2022 FirstEnergy All-American Soapbox Derby Rally Stock World Championship took place in Akron, Ohio over the weekend, with 300-plus kids from all over the country competing. Out of the 300, Locher finished atop of his class of 44 racers.

He finished with a time of 25.518, topping Zachary DeFreest of Eugene, Oregon, with a time of 28.538 -.020 and Brighton Flowe of Denver, North Carolina, with a time of 28.556 -.038. Locher joins Kelsey Pruden (15) as the only other person from Owensboro to win the Rally Masters.
