The Panthers picked up where they left off from their season-opening win, grabbing a strong 4-0 win over Ohio County in their first home game of the season.
It was Daviess County who pushed the action and got on the board first, as senior Andrew Alexander connected with senior Hayden Boswell to take a 1-0 in the 16th minute. The score would remain the same going into halftime, but in the second half the Panthers amped up the pressure.
Daviess County only needed five minutes into the second half to add onto its lead, as sophomore Cameron Bell found junior Sam Glover to make it a 2-0 game. The game went into a little bit of a stalemate following the goal, but in the 72nd minute a penalty kick got them going again offensively.
After drawing a foul in the box it was senior Ahmed Abduhalli who sank the penalty kick to make it 3-0, but it was in the 74th minute that sophomore Carter Payne hit the dagger to seal the deal on a 4-0 game.
The Panthers move to 2-0 overall with the shutout victory and will have a quick turnaround as they host Madisonville-North Hopkins at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
