Daviess County boys soccer extended its winning streak to start the season to three games on Tuesday, grabbing a tough 2-0 win over Madisonville-North Hopkins in front of its home crowd.
The Panthers got the first goal of the game thanks to a pair of shots, as senior Braden Dant’s shot deflected off of a defender and found the feet of senior Dax Sandifer. He was able to find the back of the net, giving them a 1-0 lead going into halftime.
Daviess County added another goal to its lead in the second half, as sophomore Cameron Bell found senior Ahmed Abdullahi in the box who scored to make it a 2-0 game. This would be all the Panthers needed, as they held on for the shutout.
Daviess County improves to 3-0 with the win, as they will take a day off before a district rivalry matchup with Owensboro at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
