The Purples wasted no time setting the tone for the game, grabbing the first set 25-20 and the second set 25-19. Owensboro Catholic showed up big time in the third set grabbing a 25-19 win, but were unable to string together back-to-back wins and ultimately fell 3-1.

The Lady Aces will look to bounce back quickly, as they are set to host Apollo in their first district matchup at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

Trinity vs. McLean County

Trinity was able to get back in the win column on Monday, grabbing its fourth shutout of the season by defeating McLean County.

The Lady Raiders were nothing short of dominant in the opening set, grabbing a 25-4 win. The Lady Cougars showed signs of life in the second set despite falling 25-14, but they had no luck stifling Trinity and lost in the final set 25-10.
