Apollo girls soccer hit the road to close out the weekend and earned a tie with Hopkinsville, while Owensboro had its losing streak extended to two games against LaRue County on the road.

Apollo vs. Hopkinsville

The E-gals soccer team wrapped up their four-game road skid on Saturday, as they were able to get a crucial goal in order to tie Hopkinsville 1-1.

Apollo was able to get 13 shots on the day with nine on goal, with junior Alana Rone scoring the lone goal on an assist from junior Jolie Foster. Junior Ashton Leigh helped the E-gals come away with the tie, earning four saves to keep the Lady Tigers out of net.

Apollo sits 2-5-1 overall on the season following the match, as they will now take a few days off before returning home for a 9th District matchup at 7 p.m on Tuesday. 

Owensboro vs. LaRue County

The Lady Devils dropped their second straight road contest on Saturday, as LaRue County’s offense was too much in a 3-1 loss.

Senior Maddie Decker had the lone goal for Owensboro, getting an assist from junior Sydney Lovett. Senior keeper Chandler Worth was active in net on the day trying to help the Lady Devils grab the win, recording a whopping 21 saves.

Owensboro falls to 2-3 on the season and will wrap up its five-game road stand on Tuesday, as the Lady Devils will take on Daviess County at 7 p.m.
