Daviess County grabbed its third straight on Thursday, remaining undefeated in district play by defeating Owensboro for the second time this season at 6-1.
Sophomores Cameron Bell and Carter Payne led the Panthers offense, grabbing a pair of goals each on the day. Seniors Dax Sandifer and Carter Hoak had the other two goals for Daviess County, while Hoak also had an assist in the game.
Senior Ahmed Abdullahi and Sean Higgs had a pair of assists each on the day, while junior Sam Glover also had an assist. Senior Aiden Frego had the last goal of the match in the 68th minute, but it was too little too late as the Red Devils fell 6-1.
Owensboro falls to 5-4-2 overall and 1-4 in district play, as they will take a day off before traveling to take on McCracken County at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Daviess County improves to 9-1 overall and 5-0 in district play, taking a day off before hosting the Elliott Wells Classic on Saturday.
