A 23-year-old Owensboro man has been arrested for the shooting that sent one person to the hospital early Sunday morning, the Owensboro Police Department has announced.
Michael E. Hines has been charged with first-degree assault and four counts of first-degree wanton endangerment.
According to OPD, at 12:21 a.m. Sunday officers were dispatched to a shooting in the 1200 block of West 7th Street. Officers located an adult male victim who had been shot two times. The victim was transported to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
Detectives determined through their investigation that an argument ensued between the suspect and victim that led to the suspect firing multiple rounds, according to OPD.
Detectives identified the suspect as Hines and arrested him on Thursday. He is currently being held at the Daviess County Detention Center.
Hines has also been charged in the past with:
- Theft by Unlawful Taking – Contents for Vehicle
- Unlawful Transaction with a Minor, 2nd Degree
- Fleeing or Evading Police, 2nd Degree (On Foot)
- Public Intoxication – Controlled Substance (Excludes Alcohol)
- Criminal Trespassing, 2nd Degree
