The Blue Bridge Boys are one step away from earning a spot on the lineup of one of bluegrass music’s premier festivals.

The Owensboro-based group has advanced to the final round of the Earl Scruggs Music Festival’s “Battle of the Banjos” competition and is now one of just three acts remaining in the national contest. Public voting is underway through June 16 to determine the winner.

Voting is limited to one vote per person, per day, using a valid email address, according to festival organizers.

The band recently traveled to North Carolina to perform live during the competition’s finalist showcase after advancing through earlier rounds of judging and fan voting.

According to festival organizers, the three finalists are The Blue Bridge Boys, Redbud Bluegrass, and Billy Fortune Unit.

The winning act will receive two performance slots at the 2026 Earl Scruggs Music Festival, a $1,000 honorarium, festival passes, promotional opportunities, a feature interview on WNCW radio, and a performance at Blue Highway Fest later this year.

The Earl Scruggs Music Festival, held annually in Mill Spring, North Carolina, celebrates bluegrass, Americana, and roots music and attracts thousands of attendees from across the country.

In addition to their success in the national competition, the Blue Bridge Boys recently captured the Kentucky FFA Talent Show championship and will represent the state at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis Oct. 21-24.

The group includes Cruz Edwards on banjo, Levi Hausner on guitar, and Noah Mason on bass. According to organizers, the National FFA Convention attracts tens of thousands of attendees each year.

The Blue Bridge Boys have been building momentum in recent years through festival appearances, social media growth, and regional performances. Earlier this spring, the band advanced to the final rounds of the Battle of the Banjos competition, which showcases emerging bluegrass, Americana, and roots artists from across the Southeastern United States.
