The Owensboro Symphony is presenting its fourth annual Symphony Stroll on September 29 along the riverfront. The Symphony Stroll is free to the community and will feature ensembles placed throughout Smothers Park.
The event will run from 6-8 p.m. and is presented by Jagoe Homes.
The Symphony Stroll will go from the Allen Street Gazebo on the river down to Lure Seafood & Grille. Troy Quinn and the Owensboro Symphony Chamber Orchestra will be on the Overlook Stage and other ensembles will be playing along the way.
“There is no right or wrong way to enjoy this event,” said Quinn, the Symphony’s Music Director. “You can linger at any stop you wish for as long as you like.”
Throughout the park, attendees can enjoy performances from the Owensboro Symphony’s Percussion Ensemble, Brass Quintet, Woodwind Quintet, and Jazz Trio. The night will feature a broad array of musical selections and styles, from Broadway to jazz to orchestral selections.
Several food trucks will be on-site throughout the area, and there will be an encore performance by the Jazz Trio from 8-9 p.m. at Lure Seafood & Grille.
“We’ve done some great outdoor concerts this summer,” said Symphony CEO Gwyn Payne. “This one is a growing favorite. People love the casual atmosphere and being up close and personal with the musicians.”
