The 3rd Annual Pumpkin & Pickle Festival is set to return October 21-22 at The Cottage Farm Stand, and this year the event will include a costume contest.
“Every year, The Pumpkin & Pickle Festival aims to bring together the community in a fun and imaginative way,” said, said Marlene Knight, Owner of The Cottage. “We are continually overwhelmed by the creativity and enthusiasm displayed by our community. It’s heartwarming to see people of all ages and backgrounds coming together to celebrate Fall, Harvest, Pumpkins & Pickles.”
The Cottage Farm Stand is located at 6869 Highway 56 in Sorgho. Festival hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Admission/parking is $5 cash per car.
The event will have more than 100 local artisan and craft vendors, live entertainment, a petting zoo, pony rides, a children’s area, games, many food vendors, and specialty pumpkin and pickle-themed foods.
The costume contestw will take place on October 21 and is divided into 2 categories: pumpkin-themed and pickle-themed. Each category will have 4 divisions: adult, child (0-12 years of age), family/group (3 or more), and pet (which must be on leash or in a cage). The adult and pet division winners will receive a $50 gift card to The Cottage and the group division winner will receive a $100 gift card to The Cottage. Children will receive a Cottage gift basket valued at $50.
To be eligible to participate, all contestants must register and have their photo taken by Cottage staff between 9 a.m. and noon near the Festival stage.
