The Owensboro Area Women’s Golf Association has named their officers for 2024. They have also voted for a two-day City Tournament slated for some time in 2024 with a date and locations to be decided.
For 2024, the president of the association will be Barb Potts. Other officers include vice president Melinda Reed, secretary Beki Raymer, treasurer Mary Riney and Greta Shelton, Elizabeth Belcher and Teresa Edwards will be in charge of tournaments and games.
The OAWGA are currently 45 members strong with members from areas such as right here in Owensboro, Henderson, Hawesville and Tell City, IN.
Their season ended on September 26 with a four-person scramble. Earlier in the year, they held a three-day City Tournament in June in which 24 golfers participated. The tournament was played at Windridge Country Club, The Pearl Club and Ben Hawes Golf Course. Rese James won the City Tournament and Jane Meek was crown Senior Champion as well.
The OAWGA have also previously played at the Owensboro Country Club, The Bridges Golf Course of Henderson, Windward Heights Country Club in Hawesville and Hoosier Heights Country Club in Tell City, IN.
