The family-owned Anderson Christmas Trees lot is open for the 2023 season, providing hundreds of real, fresh trees for the Owensboro community.

The operation, which has served the area for 61 years now, is located in the front parking lot of Wesleyan Park Plaza off Frederica Street. Richard Anderson started the business in 1960, and it is now run by his sons Kurt and Keith Anderson with help from Kenny Conder.

The lot opened last week, and Keith Anderson said they’ve already seen plenty of business. Tree varieties still available include Fraser Fir and Scots Pine. Sizes vary depending on the tree type. Trees will be available while supplies last.

The lot is typically open from about 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Saturday and about 10 a.m.-7 p.m. on Sundays. Prices vary by tree type and size. Only personal checks and cash are accepted. Delivery is also offered.

Customers can also purchase stands, which can be added to the tree on site. Customers can also purchase custom wreaths made fresh from trimmings at the lot.
