Girls’ Basketball recap (Jan. 6): DCHS

Daviess County had three players score in the double digits in their 56-30 victory at home over Edmonson County. DC started out strong as they held Edmonson to 8 points while they scored 17. The Lady Panthers kept up the momentum to extend their lead to 33-16 by halftime. With Edmonson only scoring 5 points, Daviess County put the nail in the coffin with another 14 points in the third quarter. They closed out the game at 56-30. With this win Daviess County are 9–5 in the season.

Leading the Lady Panthers in scoring was Zoey Beehn who had a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds while shooting 7 of 13 in field goals. Kennedy Lane made 3 three-pointers to contribute to her 14 points. Lily Hoagland scored 14 points as well and shot 4 of 5 from the free throw line. Briley Henry had a good defensive game as she had 8 steals to go along with her 4 points during the game.
