Schools staying closed for January 17 due to snow, temperature

With snow still throughout the city and the high temperature just below freezing on Wednesday, some schools have called to not have in-person schooling on Wednesday, January 17. Check here to see other school decisions, should there be an announcement.

Owensboro Public Schools

OPS is using an NTI day due to the cold weather and road conditions. Central Office will be closed to the public on Wednesday as well. OPS staff should refer to the NTI memo about reporting to their building or not.

Daviess County Public Schools

DPCS will be using a DCPS@Home Day due to the weather. Elementary students will check in with their teacher on Google Meet at 9 a.m. and refer to their pre-printed packets or visit here for the Day #2 assignments. Middle and high school students will follow the Google Meet schedule provided by their teachers. Assignments for Day #2 are posted here.

Owensboro Catholic Schools

OCS will be using an NTI day. Scrip office is closed on Wednesday but Central Office will be open!

Heritage Christian School

HCS will be using an NTI day. They said the call came after assessing their campus and seeing other closures in the area.

Grace Christian Academy

GCA has called for virtual instruction on Wednesday.
