The Daviess County Clerk’s Office announced its Auto Department is “at a standstill” and that no transactions can be processed until the issue is resolved in Frankfort.
According to their announcement on Facebook, there is no estimated time for the issue to be fixed. The Clerk’s Office will make an announcement when services can resume.
It was announced in December that County Clerk offices statewide would temporarily pause motor and vessel-related services in early January to accommodate the transition to the new database. State officials said a the time there may be longer wait times when services resumed.
The Daviess County Clerk’s Office Auto Department re-opened on January 11, saying to expect slow processing times and long lines.
On January 15, the local office announced customers should expect hours-long wait times and difficulty with some transactions. According to that announcement, “The rollout of the new KAVIS auto system came with lots of ‘bugs’ and some significant issues. The KAVIS team in Frankfort is working around the clock to address these issues. … The issues are out of our control.”
