Owensboro announces new youth basketball league

Owensboro Parks & Recreation Department proudly announces a new Youth Basketball Instructional League in collaboration with former Division 1 basketball player, Corey Wilford. The league is open to 2nd -5th grade students and will run April 14 – May 12.

“I am excited to collaborate with Owensboro Parks and Recreation on this program,” Wilford says, “My goal is to contribute to the growth of basketball knowledge and skill levels for all participants.”

The program includes 4 practices and 4 game days which will focus on skill development and teamwork. The season will conclude with a single-elimination tournament, providing young athletes a chance to compete for the championship title.

The registration fee is $70 per player. Registration is now open and limited spots are available. The deadline to register is March 22, 2024. Parents can register their child here.
