A 21-year-old Stanley man is facing multiple charges after a search warrant results in evidence of a drug trafficking operation, according to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office.

According to a release, at approximately 12:30 p.m. Wednesday DCSO patrol deputies stopped a vehicle in the 7300 block of U.S. 60 West after observing a motorist with an active felony probation violation warrant.

During the traffic stop, deputies confirmed the driver, Levi McKinney, was wanted and detained him, according to DCSO.

“Deputies also noticed a strong odor of marijuana and conducted a probable cause and consent search of the vehicle. Deputies located evidence of drug possession and notified DCSO Special Investigations Unit detectives who also responded to the scene,” the release reads.

As part of the ensuing investigation, a search warrant was secured and executed on McKinney’s residence in the 7400 block of Short Street in Stanley, according to DCSO.

“Evidence seized from the residence indicated an ongoing drug trafficking operation and included jars and bags of marijuana, psychedelic mushrooms, cases of THC vape cartridges, scales, baggies, and a large amount of U.S. currency,” the release says.

McKinney was taken to the Daviess County Detention Center on the following charges, according to DCSO:
