The Owensboro Comic & Toy Con will return this October 5-6. Organizers said the inaugural event was highly successful and expect this year’s iteration to be the largest event held at the Owensboro Convention Center.
“We’re excited to be back in Owensboro for another successful year,” said event organizer Jarrod Greer. “It’s such an amazing city with a great downtown vibe. We love coming to Owensboro, enjoying the river, eating amazing food, and working with a town that really cares about its tourism. There just aren’t many towns nicer to host these events in.”
Greer said the convention offers fans the complete ComiCon experience. It includes celebrity autograph sessions and meet-and-greets, panels and workshops, vendors and exhibitors, gaming areas, and more. There will also be events for attendees to check out on Friday and Saturday nights. More information on guests, vendors, and events will be announced at a later date.
“We are building one of the most entertaining ComiCon’s in the country and projecting this event to be the largest convention held at the Owensboro Convention Center,” said Visit Owensboro President Mark Calitri. “Jarrod Greer is not just an event organizer; he’s a true visionary. He has a passion for creating world-class events that entertain thousands of attendees.”
Tickets go on sale on June 7. Guests can get free admission if they book and stay in one of the designated conference hotel blocks during the convention. Participating hotels are the Holiday Inn Riverfront and the Hampton Inn & Suites Downtown Waterfront.
