Update: Thursday 11 a.m. – Coroner Jeff Jones reported a 17-year-old female died in the accident. Owensboro Times is choosing not to release the victim’s name as they are a minor.
Original Story: Wednesday 4:30 p.m. – A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle on East 4th Street Wednesday afternoon and died from their injuries, according to Owensboro Police Department.
OPD reported that the accident occurred at approximately 3:30 p.m. and that the pedestrian was transported to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at OHRH at approximately 4:08 p.m.
The Owensboro Police Department, Owensboro Fire Department, and AMR responded to the scene.
OPD’s Accident Reconstruction Unit is on scene.
