Baseball recap (April 9): OCHS

Owensboro Catholic clinched the All “A” title after they took down McLean County in the championship game 5-1. With this win the Aces are now 8-3.

Catholic started strong as they scored a run in the first inning. McLean struck back in the second inning to tie the score up. The next three innings went scoreless as both teams were locked in a stalemate.The Aces ended the stalemate with a big 4-run performance in the sixth inning. OCHS shut down McLean in the final inning to win the title. 

On the mound was Ben Hyland and Lane Hundley who combined for 7 strikeouts and only allowed 2 total hits during the game. Eli Blair hit a double and had 3 RBIs, and Barrett Evans had an RBI along with 1 run scored. Houston Flynn had 2 hits and scored 1 run. Parker Heistand and Mason Moser both scored 1 run as well.
