Owensboro had big success on the day as both teams defeated Hancock County.
The Lady Red Devils took down Hancock 6-1. They were led in singles by big 6-0 wins by Anna Travis, an 8-0 win by Drew Crandall, an 8-1 win by Graycen Roberts and an 8-2 victory by Carsyn Cecil. In doubles, Addie Travis and Whitley Ford and the duo of Anna Travis/Cecil both won 8-2.
The boys also didn’t have trouble defeating Hancock 8-1. In singles, Walker Gladdis had a pair of 6-0 wins while Andrew Deibel contributed an 8-2 win. Arlo Johnson won 8-3 and John Clay Ford had a pair of 6-2 wins as well. In doubles, the duo of Johnson/Deibel won 8-4 while Gaddis/Mies McDaniel won 7-5 and Broderick Devine/Malik Browder won 9-7.
