Track and Field recap (April 13): Owensboro Invitational

Owensboro hosted the Owensboro Invitational where both Owensboro and Daviess County had strong performances. Owensboro’s girls’ team took home the gold, Daviess County’s boys’ and girls’ teams secured 2nd and 3rd place finishes respectively. 

OHS

The Lady Red Devils stole the show as they came in 1st place with 134.50 points, and the boys’ team placed 9th overall as well. OHS placed 1st in the girls’ 4x100m relay, 2nd in the girls’ 4x200m relay and 2nd in the girls’ 4x400m relay. The top performances for OHS included:

  • Zah’Niyah Board: 1st place in 100m dash
  • Eliza Kline: 1st in 400m dash
  • Lilah Stanley: 1st in 300m hurdles
  • Kianna November: 2nd in long jump, 2nd in triple jump
  • Kiley Palmer: 3rd in 800m run
  • Kaden McKnight: 3rd in 110m hurdles, 3rd in 300m hurdles
  • Kimora Duncan: 3rd in 200m dash
  • Nakiyah Voyles: 3rd in high jump 4’0
  • Lizy Phillips: 3rd in shot put

DCHS

The Panthers had good all-round performance as they placed 2nd overall while the girls’ team placed 3rd. DC placed 1st in the boys’ 4x200m relay and 3rd in the girls’ 4x800m relay. The top performers for DCHS included:

  • Brayden Kaelin: 1st in 3200m run, 3rd in 1600m run
  • Sally Tidwell: 1st in 3200m run
  • Ellie Girten: 1st in high jump 4’0
  • Rachel Moran: 1st in long jump
  • Kolyn Cruz: 1st in discus, 3rd in shot put
  • Rebekah Moran: 2nd in 100m hurdles
  • Connor White: 2nd in 100m dash
  • Aidan Taylor: 2nd in 3200m run
  • Lucy Spaw: 2nd in 1600m run
  • Mallory Raines: 2nd in 400m dash, 2nd in 800m run
  • Malory McClure: 3rd in pole vault
