Sunday, 9:33 a.m. – Horse Fork Creek Park is reopened after some emergency repairs on the spray park.

Director of Parks and Public Information Jordan Rowe said the contractor had to excavate a small portion of the parking lot to reach the water leak.  But repairs were completed and the splash pad will be available again to families.

Daily hours for the spray park will be 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Labor Day.

Original Story: The spray park at Horse Fork Creek Park is closed for emergency repair work. County officials said a “significant water leak” must be fixed before the spray park can reopen for the summer months.

At this time, the estimated duration of the closure is unknown. However, the adjacent playground and restrooms will remain accessible.

The county also operates spray parks at Yellow Creek Park and Panther Creek Park, with hours from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.

The City of Owensboro spray parks at Smothers, Legion, and Kendall-Perkins parks are open from 9 a.m. to 9 a.m. daily.
